Beyond the official brief, there was one clear goal: make an even better Maxmat ad than the last one. Expectations were high, and while this spot was more restrained and less adventurous, it still had to raise the bar.
We returned to the colorful, dense, industrial world built for the previous film to maintain visual continuity, while taking the story in a new direction with our small heroes. This approach freed up time to develop new key elements and focus more on animation and storytelling.
Inspired by theatrical stage design, we created a central rotating set that shifts between gardening, tools, and lighting areas. This allowed us to tell a dynamic, fun, and visually rich story—while staying within production and airtime constraints.
In addition to the main ad, we also created a series of sponsor clips for the European Soccer Cup, where Maxmat was involved. This included producing two variations of the main packshot, adding football-themed animations, cloth-simulated outfits and accessories, and even a full CG stadium to complete the scene.
